Mike Fedyszyn is the Band Teacher at Bessie Allen Middle School in North Fond du Lac and is responsible for three bands, a jazz program and various exploratory music courses. He also has served as a music teacher in the school districts of Fond du Lac, Arrowhead, Hartford, and Germantown. He holds a Master of Music degree in Music Education (Emphasis – Instrumental Conducting) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music Education from the same institution. Mike frequently serves as a clinician and guest conductor throughout the state of Wisconsin. Mike often gives presentations, seminars, and graduate-level courses on topics such as instrumental music pedagogy and technology in the music classroom throughout the state and country. As an author, his articles on music education have been published in numerous magazines in the music education field, including The Wisconsin School Musician and The Instrumentalist.

Mike is a 2017 recipient of the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Fellowship Award, a prestigious honor that recognizes teaching excellence and innovation in Wisconsin. He is a Past-President of the Wisconsin Youth Band Directors Association (WYBDA) and has served as a chair on the Council of the Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA). Mike is a Master Adjudicator for the Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA), where he has worked with thousands of Wisconsin school music students over the years. He is active in numerous professional organizations, including the WMEA, WYBDA, the National Band Association (NBA) and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).

An accomplished brass musician, Mike has taught private lessons on trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone/euphonium, and tuba to students of all ages (children and adults) for 20 years and currently maintains an active studio in the Fond du Lac area. He has also served as an Associate Lecturer of Trumpet at the University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac. Mike is an active performer and has performed with numerous musical ensembles throughout Wisconsin, including as the Principal Trumpet in both the Knightwind Ensemble of Milwaukee and VENTO Winds, a wind ensemble based in the Fox Valley. He has performed with other groups, such as the Fond du Lac Symphonic Band and Concord Chamber Orchestra. Mike also is an active freelance trumpeter in the state, performing in a wide variety of styles.

Mike resides in North Fond du Lac with his wife (Beth) and sons (Ryan and Brayden). In his spare time, he enjoys following the Milwaukee Brewers and spending time with family and friends.
