Dr. Letícia Grützmann is the Assistant Professor of Music and the Director of Choirs and Vocal Music at Carroll University in Waukesha, WI. She serves as the coordinator of the Bachelor Degree in Music Education - Choral Emphasis, and she is a member of the Presidential Taskforce for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Grützmann has earned her D.M.A. in conducting from West Virginia University where she also pursued a double master's degree, in conducting and voice performance. Since 2018, she is the founder conductor and artistic director of the non-profit organization Vox Principalis Choral Association, in Morgantown, West Virginia. With this ensemble, Grützmann has conducted choral-orchestral major works, and has created a monthly series of concerts that features local musicians enhancing the participation of the community in the cultural scenario in that area. As the former music director and conductor of the Morgantown Children's and Youth Choirs, she was invited to feature the MCYC in the West Virginia Symphony Christmas Concerts during the seasons 2016 and 2017. Grützmann has been an active clinician, recently presenting at VT-ACDA, ACDA-PA, and WVMTNA conferences, as well as a clinician and guest conductor in her home country, Brazil. Currently, she dedicates her researches to the performance practices, and to the development and integration of the choral student with the contemporary topics of the global society.
