In his twenty-fifth year of teaching Shawn W. Gudmunsen strives for excellence in his music programs. A 1992 graduate of St. Croix Falls, Shawn went on to receive his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Wisconsin River Falls in 1997. While there, Mr. Elliot R. Wold was his mentor, and teacher. Shawn received his Master of Education-Fine Arts in degree at UW-River Falls in the fall of 2011. His published project is entitled; "Musical Traditions of Uganda".

Shawn has taught at all age levels and is currently directing the Chamber Singers of St. Croix, St. Croix Falls Singing Saints concert choir, Freshman Choir and also directs the seventh and eighth grade choirs. The combined choir members number over half of the middle and high school population. Shawn also teaches Creativity and Music Technology classes. Extra curricular charges include Drama Director, and Head Boys Golf Coach

Outside of the classroom, Shawn is active in the choral community. He can be seen judging for the Wisconsin School Music Association and is in demand for clinicians and workshop presenter. He is currently the WMEA Choral chair. Shawn is also active in the American (Wisconsin) Choral Directors Association; ACDA and in the National Association of Music Educators (NAfME). Shawn is also a 2020 recipient of
the Kohl Fellowship. He has been married for 20 years to his lovely wife and teacher Paula, and is a proud father of two boys. He enjoys family time, golf, gardening, raising sheep and all things hunting.
