Brian Vanderbloemen has taught 5-12 Band in Edgar, WI (‘94-’97), 6-12 Band in New Glarus, WI (‘97-’03), and is now starting his 19th year in McFarland, WI - where he teaches 6-12 Band and 11/12 Orchestra. Brian has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison (‘93) and a Master’s Degree from Southern Oregon University (‘07). Brian is a new member of the WMEA Standards Committee, where he is excited to join a vibrant group of people who are all passionate about sharing the WMEA Music Standards with music teachers across the state (and maybe beyond?).

As a performer, Brian can be seen/heard playing music in the saxophone section of the Madison Jazz Orchestra and also as the conductor of the Madison Wind Ensemble.

Brian, along with spouse Anne (6-8 Band Teacher in the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District), and three children (Rachel, Savon, and Charlie) recently moved to Cross Plains, and can be found enjoying life on their screened-in porch.
